PUPPY LOVE

What's a girl got to do to get a dog around here? Last year, Andrew said that we would def. be getting a dog by August. Well, August came and went. This time, he says that we should wait until August and we are settled into the house. In August, I'm sure he will say we should wait just a bit longer because of blah, blah, blah. I'm beginning to question his desires for a dog.

Isn't she the cutest?

Last week, after repeatedly staring at pictures of this super cute Siberian Husky, I asked Andrew how upset he would be if I put in an application for her. He said, "Upset." Oh, c'mon! He has read more of the Game of Thrones books than I have! How can he say no? We could even call her Nymeria. How perfect!

But now he is even considering only getting an older dog (my original idea) to help the cats adjust to having a dog in the house. Why must he always be so sensible? Gosh!

I guess I should be thankful. If it wasn't for Andrew, I would have a zoo of cats and be a single, crazy cat lady.

I WANT TO RIDE MY BIKE!

Battle wounds.

Finally! I'm back in the saddle! Andrew picked up my bike today from its tune-up, and we were able to take it for a spin. We hit up the bike path behind our apartment, and we were off! (I promise more action shots next time.)

Because it was a little chilly for a ride, I opted for jeans and a sweatshirt. I rolled my pant leg up in about the first 1/2 mile of our trip. Andrew said I looked ridiculous, and I didn't realize how ridiculous until I saw my picture. I promise to wear proper riding gear once it gets a little warmer. I can't wait to break out the padded butt shorts!

I think Andrew was more than excited to break in his latest purchase. One thing he did mention was that he didn't like his seat. It was then that I reminded him that no bike seat is "comfortable." I promised him some padded butt shorts too.

We weren't the only ones that wanted to go for a ride. A couple of days ago, we got a great picture of Calypso eager to hit the road. Admittedly, it was a little staged, but cute nonetheless.

With all the riding we are planning, maybe we can do RAGBRAI as our next big adventure! Who's with me?

HAIR INDECISION

I tried to take some hair pics. Andrew wanted to be in them.

I need new hair. This just isn't cutting it anymore. But what? Super short? Bob? Perm? Oh, and I'm not even kidding about the perm. It's 2012, and there has got to be something out there that can give me dreamy hair everyday without much effort. I want curls! And I want them now! Can they do perm waves? Jennifer Nettles has my ideal do. Look at those curls! It looks so effortless.

Or should I just switch up the color? Red? Andrew says yes. I say mmmmmaybe. Life is too short to have boring hair. I want something fun for the summer! Something sassy.

Ginnifer Goodwin is just a badass with badass hair. But I'm afraid that if I go this short, I may never grow it out again and before you know it, it won't be cool short hair but mom hair. I'm far too young for mom hair.

Or maybe I should just work with what I have...

DESIGN THUMB

So what did I do with my day off? The highlights? Or I guess in this case, highlight (singular)? Signing more papers for the house. Today, we had an appointment with the bank to go over some paperwork. We basically told them that we are not liars and that we promise to give them lots and lots of money. They were thrilled.

But let's get back to the fun stuff! Last week, because we are excited and over-eager first time home buyers we went to Home Depot and did a mock shopping spree in preparation of actually having the house in our possession. We ooh'd and ahh'd over lawn mowers, light fixtures, and toilets. The best part was dreaming about the paint colors. I have very specific ideas in mind.

Andrew on the other hand, just picks out his favorite colors. He picked out these gems and decided that's what he would like to paint the bathroom.

I picked out some colors for the bedroom (more of a color palette than actual paint colors). I don't think Andrew saw my "vision". That's where this comes in. Let me introduce you to my new best friends www.olioboard.com and www.design-seeds.com. Pure genius.

I showed him around and let him run wild. Although very interested, the charm wore off very quickly. That's when we decided that he would cover the outside of the house and I would take care of the inside. So while he is working on his green thumb, I am becoming an interior designer. Behold my masterpiece! I call this one bedroom. Ahhhhhhh.

Any and all advice is welcome! Any other design websites I should know about?

MEAN PINNERS

Ladies, ladies, ladies! (And some gentlemen...) Where has all of your class gone? What started out as a place of creativity & encouragement has turned kinda nasty. Didn't you learn from your mother that if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all?

Exhibit A: Delicious dessert, mean girl

Lately, I have been noticing a increased amount of negativity spreading throughout Pinterest. For shame! I love this place, but I don't love what has been coming out of your mouth fingers. I have always know that some girls can be crueler than others, but this is turning into Mean Girls 2. And we all know that movie does not need a sequel.

Am I the only one that has noticed the foul language, the put downs, and the bashing? Where is the love? For heavens sake, just let me pin in peace!
