6 Hours

Six hours of sleep... this is so not my style. It's 5 am and I am up willingly. Without a full eight hours, you know something is on my mind.

I'm not really even stressed about the wedding. I just see my to-do list, and I want it done now! I want to relax next week. The only way that I see that happening, is if I cross some stuff off. Tonight, boutineers. Tomorrow, dress fitting and more wedding stuff.

It seems like this isn't somehting I should say, but I am ready for the wedding to be over. Past brides, is this a normal feeling? I need my real life back! I want to watch a movie without multitasking through wedding projects. I want to have time to bake. Oh, and going out for a drink/dinner with friends would be nice too.

Oh, and I just checked the 10-day forecast. 60% chance of rain. Looks like the Farmers Almanac does know what it's talking about... Is it September 6th yet? Vancouver, here I come!

Will someone please get me an Pumpkin Spice Latte? Please...

I LOVE TECHNOLOGY

Today I wanted to share with you two of my latest internet crazes. Pinterest and Spotify! Have you heard of them? They are simply amazing tools that leave you wondering, "Why didn't I think of that?"

Pinterest - This website allows you to "pin" links and photos to a visual "board". You will never email yourself another link again! You can follow your friends and boards that other people have created.

Spotify - I was introduced to this awesome invention by a coworker. I could have punched Andrew in the arm when he told me he already knew about his application. Spotify allows you listen to any artist, album, and song you could ever imagine - for free! How cool is that? You just download the player and you are good to go. The catch? There are a few commercials, but even those can be avoided if you upgrade to a paid subscription. The premium subscription also allows you take you music with you on your smart phone. Win, win!

WEEKEND RECAP: AUGUST 12-14

This weekend I was in Des Moines to help my good friend Emily celebrate her bach party!

Highlights:
- Meeting Courtney's daughter
- Lots of samples at the farmers market
- Lunch at Raccoon River - try the vanilla ale!
- Silly bachelorette party games
- The Iowa State Fair!
- Unicorn tattoos
- Fried mac & cheese bites, pickle wraps, cheese curds, and beer
- Dance party
- Drunk voicemails that we left for Nick and Andrew :)
- Being able to hang out with some really good friends and meeting some new ones

Lowlights:
- The cost of the beer at the fair. Crazy!
- No housekeeping - what gives?!?! Oh, and no pool either...
- Hangovers

I would say that is a pretty darn good weekend!

BE LIKE SUPERMAN

While reading my August issue of Marie Claire, I came across an article about a young woman who became a bone marrow donor and saved a life. Before reading this article, I was unaware and misinformed about the bone marrow donation process. This article opened my eyes and made me want to help!

The next day, I visited http://www.getswabbed.org/ and was futher educated about the process, the side effects of donation, and how I can really make a difference. I signed-up right away. On Monday I got my swabbing package! They send you a package that contains two swab so they can collect cells and find a match.

Taking the sample wasn't hard and very painless. I asked Andrew to take a picture of me doing it for the blog, I was blissuflly unaware of how stupid I looked until I saw the pictures. But for the sake of blogging, you get to see them anyway.

As of Tuesday, they are off in the mail. I really enjoying helping others, and I think this is a great way of doing something that means so much to someone. I am crossing my fingers for a match! Also, if you would like to donate some money to help this great cause (it cost $65 to process and add a new donor to the registry), please go here!

WEEKEND RECAP: AUGUST 5-8

What we did this weekend: We went to Milwaukee for Flannery and Tom's wedding. We also stayed an extra day in Des Moines to do some wedding stuff. And we finally made it home on Monday night!

Highlights:
- Four day weekend
- Hotel with friends
- Drinks with friends
- Wearing my super cute dress from Shabby Apple
- Seeing Tom and Flannery tie the knot
- Backyard reception with an awesome band and mouth-watering food
- Late night Mexican food
- H&M shopping

Lowlights:
- Lots and lots of driving
- Having to watch National Geographic's "Hogzilla" while eating breakfast. Not a good choice, Radisson!
- The rude people/drivers we encountered in Milwaukee
- No one showing up to our wedding appointments (that's a whole other post)
